Join our course as we take you, your team or class through the process of coming up with a working robot for the WRO 2021 Elementary Challenge – Energy at Home.
This robot model helps reduce the amount of energy consumed in the house by:
* replacing the red lamps with new energy saving white lamps.
* putting a solar cell on the correct side of the roof depending on the position of the sun.
* Installing smart home devices that use energy my efficiently.
This course is helpful to both beginner and advanced teams who are either looking to attend the competition or who want to strengthen their knowledge about using the Spike Prime Kit to create solutions to models of real world problems. Programs are made with the Spike App using both Word Blocks and Python.
Course Outline:
1. Brief Introduction to the Spike prime platform and the Challenge Rules
2. Building the robot model
3. Programming Robot Movements (Program in Word Blocks and Python)
a. Making Straight Movements
b. Making Intelligent Movements with Light/Colour Sensor
i. Follow Line
ii. Turn to Black Line
iii. Using My Blocks
4. Robot Strategy and decision making
5. Robot Design Concepts and tips for your unique robot.
P.S: This particular robot model is for learning and should not be used at the competition.
